Blogged about Texas being on my 2018 travel list here. Finally made it down this way. It’s seeming like Texas may be an annual trip. Anyways... this time hubby and I traveled together. We covered quite a bit of ground and tried a few things for the first time.
Got up the next day and had breakfast at The Breakfast Klub (my favorite), then caught the new Predator movie at the iPic theatre. OMG! Fabulous experience (plus free popcorn and a nice cushy bathroom). Walked from the theatre over to the Galleria. Another OMG moment. Lots of window shopping took place. Next time I’ll come back with money and some extra room in my carryon. Left the galleria and headed back to Montrose for a nap. Decided to catch the Thursday night football game at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Ready to head on to Dallas! We caught the mega bus from Downtown Houston (4.5 hours) to downtown Dallas. Ubered to our Airbnb in Oaklawn (what an uber ride! LORDT). Dropped our bags off and within minutes were on our way to Pappadeaux. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits (MY GOODNESS) and hubby ordered the Seafood Platter. Devoured our food and took the walk back to the apartment. On the way home (I have a habit of calling hotels home *shrugs) a bird took a crap right on my head. Didn’t let it ruin my day because after all “I’m living my best life and I ain’t goin back and forth with you birds!”. Lol just joking. I just had a BOMB seafood lunch, the sun is shinning and I’m in Dallas. That bird can’t steal my joy.
Rested for a bit. Watched a movie then decided to head out to the Happiest Hour. OMG I love this place! One of the best views of Dallas. Instead of ubering, hubby and I decided to walk from downtown back to Oaklawn! Have I told you guys how much I LOVE DALLAS! What a beautiful city! What a clean and beautiful city!!!
Texas State Fair here we come! We had an amazing time. The Texas State Fair is unlike anything you’ve ever imagined. A client suggested we go on Saturday for the State Fair Classic (Grambling v. Prarie View). So of course we watched the game after we stuffed our mouths with chili cheese fries, chili cheese hotdogs, turkey legs, Mexican corn and much more! We spent about 7 hours at the fair. There were seats set up for people watching, game areas with cornhole, connect four, jenga –anything you can think of. Once we left the fair we went straight back to the Airbnb. My feet hurt and I was tired lol
We got up and checked out of our Airbnb. Our host suggested we try Street Fine Chicken for brunch. My goodness! Some of the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. Left the restaurant and ubered to the airport.
I LOVE TEXAS! We’ve given some serious thought to relocating. If it’s something we really plan to do, I need to do quite a bit of research!
